Who we are

Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Queensland Inc. (WIRQ) is a not-for-profit organisation which operates for the benefit of its members in the insolvency and restructuring industry.

WIRQ, formerly known as IWIRC Queensland, formed in 1994 and was established by a team of female insolvency and restructuring practitioners. Since its formation the membership base has grown with momentum in excess of 200 financial members.

Our members are professional women and men across accounting firms, law firms, insurers, real estate agencies, auctioneering firms, financial institutions and government bodies. We aim to strengthen and diversify our membership base with each passing year.

Our mission

Our underlying focus is to promote women in insolvency-related professions and to support, encourage and mentor females in the profession.

Our mission is to:

  • Promote the involvement of women in restructuring and insolvency and related professions;
  • Provide opportunities for education and self-development for its members;
  • Provide opportunities for networking, business development and sharing of experience, interests, expertise and business opportunities between members; and 
  • Provide a forum to address insolvency policy concerns.

In WIRQ's advocacy for women, it is always seeking new opportunities to help promote women and diversity in the restructuring and insolvency industry In Queensland. We are always open to feedback or suggestions from WIRQ members and beyond, so please get in touch with us by sending us an email.
